Our Beginning

A Story Born in the Heart of Italy

Piada was founded on one enduring belief: that authentic piada — the beloved Italian flatbread wrap of Romagna — deserved a home in the United States. Our founders brought the traditional craft of piada italian street food across the Atlantic, pairing centuries-old recipes with the freshest locally-sourced ingredients.

What began as a single location in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, has grown into a beloved destination where every guest experiences the warmth of Italian hospitality. Every piada we roll is a reflection of that original vision — simple, honest, bold food that brings people together.

Craft & Passion

Every piada we make carries the dedication of hands that genuinely care. No shortcuts, no compromises — just craft and passion on every plate.

We are woven into the fabric of Cuyahoga Falls and the broader United States community. We give back, hire local, and celebrate togetherness through food.

Cultural Respect

Piada italian street food has centuries of history. We honor that heritage with respect, preserving traditions while welcoming new guests to experience them.

Sustainability

From compostable packaging to reduced food waste programs, we are committed to running a restaurant that does right by the planet every single day.

Your experience — from order to last bite — is our top priority. We exist to make you happy, and we measure our success by your smile.

How We Got Here

Our Journey Through Time

From a dream of authentic piada italian street food to a beloved community institution — here are the milestones that shaped Piada.

2008

The Dream Takes Shape

Founders Marco and Elena Rossi return from Romagna, Italy, inspired by the piada flatbreads they grew up eating. They begin experimenting with traditional recipes in their Cuyahoga Falls home kitchen, dreaming of bringing authentic piada italian to the United States.

2010

First Location Opens

Piada opens its doors at 2929 State Rd, Cuyahoga Falls. The small, 20-seat eatery immediately captures local hearts with hand-pressed piada, house-made sauces, and the warmth of true Italian hospitality. Weekend queues form within the first month.

2013

Recognition & Expansion

Piada is named "Best New Restaurant" by a regional food magazine and welcomes its 10,000th guest. The team expands the kitchen, adds a dedicated catering service, and introduces the signature Piada Trio — the three bestselling wraps that remain menu staples today.

2016

Farm-to-Table Commitment

Piada formalises partnerships with five Ohio farms and an artisan cheese producer to lock in year-round fresh local sourcing. The new menu reflects seasonal ingredients, and the first plant-based piada options debut — earning enthusiastic response from the growing vegan and vegetarian community.

2019

Online Ordering Launches

Piada embraces digital ordering, launching its website and delivery partnerships that allow guests across the United States to enjoy piada italian street food from home. Online orders account for 40% of revenue within the first year of launch.

2022

New Menu & Rebrand

Piada launches a full rebrand celebrating its Italian roots with a refined identity and a refreshed menu featuring 30+ piada combinations, seasonal specials, and a new dessert range. The rebrand earns widespread media coverage and drives the single biggest week of sales in company history.
